As part of its continuing campaign to connect with Chinese outbound travelers, Visa wanted to create a piece of digital content that showcased experiences in Australia off the beaten track. This way, consumers could experience the power of Visa’s payment network and the exciting travel adventures it could give them.
We staged a prank for three unwitting pairs of Chinese on holiday in Australia. At the airport, we offered Chinese Visa cardholders a free hotel transfer. When these pairs of travelers got into the car, they were in for a surprise. Despite their protestations, the driver didn’t take them to their hotel; he took them on an unforgettable Visa adventure.
After watching the video, viewers were linked to a web series produced in conjunction with Mafengwo (a Chinese travel site) and Tourism Australia. Here, they could see travel influencers exploring Australian experiences unlocked by Visa.
My role in this project included scripting, concept development and client selling.
